The role of quality care in preventing low birth weight

The objective of this work is to co-relate maternal age, socioeconomic status, and health care related determinants with low birth weight. Cross sectional study using random sampling method, total 2575 pregnant women in 200 villages in Birbhum district, West Bengal was interviewed. The study was done by a Non Government Organization, which is registered under Society Registration Act. Prior permission and ethical approval were obtained before data collection based on a structured pretested questionnaire. Statistical software, STATA 12 was used for data analysis. The survey period was between January 2015 and December 2017.
