The book focuses on a novel potential biomarker, STING (Stimulator of Interferon Gene). STING was reported to be mutated in many types of cancers, but its role remains unclear in cancer development. Because of the importance of STING in type I IFNs pathway in innate immunity response, the book is trying to identify the role of STING in cancers especially the affection of its mutation on innate immunity response. The book provide a potential platform for further research to study STING as a potential biomarker for cancer, and a therapeutic target gene against tumorigenesis as well.
