The role of the external factor in the political process of the Kyrgyz Republic
Details
The Kyrgyz Republic is a state formed as a result of the collapse of the USSR and is part of the region called Central Asia. Modern Central Asia, although a politically unstable and economically underdeveloped region, is attracting increasing attention from external players. The explanation for this lies in the fact that Central Asia has not only a convenient geopolitical and favourable geostrategic position, but also a large amount of natural resources; many hydrocarbon transit routes run through Central Asia. The geographical position of the Kyrgyz Republic, the loyalty of its foreign policy course and the weakness of its economy have made the state hostage to the strategic interests of the world powers. The political process in the republic has long been influenced by third actors and often to the detriment of its own national interests. Finding ways to resist external influence is a primary task for the leadership of modern Kyrgyzstan.
