The sale of natural flowers in the city of Yaoundé in Cameroon

For more than two decades, natural flowers have played a considerable role both in the decoration and in the decoration of great ceremonies of any kind in Cameroon. In Yaoundé, the sale of natural flowers has become an economic activity integrated in the urban landscape. It attracts a diversity of actors whose presence here is only equalled by the income they generate on a daily basis. Moreover, this activity brings to light significant spatial interactions linked to the number of movements of actors both within the urban space and between the city of Yaoundé and its hinterland. Thus, in view of the growing awareness of the populations of the city of Yaoundé, who are now integrating natural flowers into their culture, this study highlights this activity in terms of job creation, income and improvement of living conditions and

NDZIE SOUGA CLOTAIRE, Forschungslehrer mit einem Ph.D. in Wirtschaftsgeografie, den er an der Universität Yaoundé I in Kamerun erworben hat. Er wurde am 01.12.1975 in Etoud'ayos, einem 40 km von Yaoundé entfernten Dorf, geboren und ist ein auf Entwicklungsfragen spezialisierter Geograf.
