Details
This play highlights the struggles and challenges faced by Cherop, her mother Cherotich, and other characters in their community. Cherop, a young woman, is confronted with social pressures such as circumcision and arranged marriage. Her mother, Cherotich, tries to protect and guide her through these trials, but they both have to face oppressive traditions and expectations. Autorentext
Kiplangat Nathan Sikor, a writer and researcher of Ugandan origin, lives in Turku, Finland, where he is pursuing his master's degree in French language and literature. The author of a novel titled The Boy from Sebeiland and four collections of poems, he is also a talented French teacher.
