The Sensitivity & Specificity of MUAC versus BMI in detecting CED

This work is based on accumulative body of work we used in detecting chronic energy deficiency (CED) among vulnerable adult population in resource limited countries lime Ethiopia. The use of Mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) in detecting CED is evidenced to be effective, easy and requires only a tape measure. It is suitable for nutritional screening during the height of an emergency where time and skilled personnel are at a premium.
