Roee Rosen (geb. 1963 in Rechovot, Israel; lebt und arbeitet in Tel Aviv) ist Künstler, Autor und Filmemacher. Mit seinen kritischen und satirischen Reflexionen untersucht er mit humorvoll-psychoanalytischem Ansatz Begehren und strukturelle Gewalt. Rosen verknüpft aktuelle israelische und internationale Politik mit Bezügen zur europäischen und jüdischen Geschichte. Indem er ein breites Spektrum an fiktiven Figuren, ikonografischen Motiven und Chiffren verwendet, transformiert und verweist er immer wieder auf den Kanon der historischen Avantgarde und auf normverletzende Traditionen von Marquis de Sade bis Georges Bataille. Auch an populären Medien, politischer Propaganda und klassischen Kindermärchen bedient Rosen sich.

The Standard Edition zeigt eine Aneinanderreihung von Buchcovern allesamt Versprechungen, Fantasien und Täuschungen. Die Einbände basieren auf der berühmten Ausgabe der Werke von Sigmund Freud (erschienen bei Hogarth Press zwischen 1953 und 1974). Freuds Name und Buchtitel werden durch den Künstler durch Alternativen ersetzt; jeder der ursprünglichen 24 Bände der Reihe erhält zwei Versionen: eine typografische und eine illustrierte. Mit einer Einführung von Krzysztof Kociuczuk und Christoph Platz-Gallus.

The titles are based on the famous edition of the works of Sigmund Freud (released by the Hogarth Press between 1953 and 1974). Freud's name and the titles of his writings are replaced by the artist's and alternative headings; each of the original 24 volumes in the series comes in two versions: a typographic and an illustrated one. With an introduction by Krzysztof Kociuczuk and Christoph Platz-Gallus.
