The state of play on WASH in the city of Goma

Our research focused on the current state of water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) in the KAHEMBE district (city of Goma). The hypothesis was that the KAHEMBE neighbourhood, like other neighbourhoods in the city of GOMA, has a problem with access to drinking water, basic hygiene and environmental sanitation: 1. A very low level of household income in KAHEMBE; 2. the population's inadequate knowledge of hygiene, sanitation and water treatment; 3. the lack of water treatment, hygiene and sanitation facilities and tools; The objectives of the study were to assess the current situation regarding water, hygiene and sanitation in the KAHEMBE district, and to evaluate the level of knowledge, attitude and practice of the district's population regarding water, hygiene and basic sanitation.
