The Stylistic Identity of English Literary Texts

This book expands upon the concept of style and the terminology of linguistic and literary stylistics, focusing on the identification of distinctive stylistic features and strategies that authors select and develop throughout their texts. It also reviews and describes the main stylistic means available in English at different levels of language. In expanding upon the components of stylistic identity (authorial, textual and reader's identity) through its balanced combination of theoretical and practical elements, the book encourages all the ones exploring styles to develop keen awareness of the multifaceted approaches to the study of literary texts taken by stylistics, as well as by linguistics, literary criticism and rhetoric.

Nadia-Nicoleta Mor räu (BA MA PhD) is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacau. In addition to her exploring the fields of stylistics and phraseology, she is actively involved in interdisciplinary research activities in name studies and identity studies.
