The Theory of the Ordinances of Government

Both Al-Mawardi and Sayyed Qutb are considered as Islamic intellectuals who theorize for the ordinances of government, but each one of them was influenced by the cultural, social, and political contexts and circumstances of his own epoch. This study looks into the concepts of imamate/ caliphate, Al-Hakimiyya, Al-Jihad, and Al-Jahiliyya in the theory of the ordinances of government. Also, it will try to find the link between Abbasid Al-Mawardi down to the Egyptian Islamist Sayyed Qutb.
