Details

In this book Dr. Dalia Meir, a therapist and artist, offers the therapist a new tool for evaluation and therapy. This tool is based on the patient's internal and external voice, and on open dialogue between therapist and patient, and is easily implemented by therapists in different areas. The tool is a result of many years of experience and research, is based primarily on use of the world of imagination as a bridge to the patient's inner world, and integrates aspects of creativity and spirituality. Dr. Meir presents cases of the examination of life stories from which she learned about the patient's outlook, personality, forces of 'self', impact of environment on the patient, and the patient's past, present, and future - through the integration of the patient's overt and direct story, as presented in the verbal life story, with the patient's covert story expressed through the tree metaphor using guided imagery, and through a process of the patient's verification of the integrative story in all its dimensions. In this way Dr. Meir succeeds, hand in hand with the patient, in seeing a comprehensive and whole picture of the person.
