The trials and tribulations of Bakwena ba Mogopa

This book is about the history of the Bakwena ba Mogopa. The Bakwena ba Mogopa are a subgroup of the Bakwena. King Malope had two wives. The first born child of the senior house was a female and the first born child of the junior house was a male. One group of king Malope's people wanted the first born child of the senior house who was a female to be the heir to the king's throne and the second group wanted the first born child of the junior house who was a male to be the heir to the king's throne because he was a boy. The two groups did not agree and ended up splitting into two lineages. The group that is under focus in this book is the one led by the first born child of the junior house namely Mogopa. This group experienced difficulties throughout their history, but they ultimately managed to solve those difficulties. These difficulties were caused by climatic conditions of the seventeenth century as well as the many battles that they fought with other tribes. The aim of this book is to demonstrate that people can solve their problems when they are united.

J'ai obtenu un Bed (hon.) en éducation des adultes à WITS. University South Africa en 2002. Je me suis ensuite inscrite à l'UNISA Afrique du Sud et j'ai obtenu un Med (philosophie de l'éducation) en 2006. J'ai ensuite poursuivi mes études à l'UNISA et obtenu un doctorat (philosophie de l'éducation) en 2013. Je suis actuellement évaluateur contractuel à l'UNISA.
