Radio was one of the major weapons used in the Cold War and The Undivided Sky gives a lively and comprehensive account of radio programming and audience responses in the divided Germany of the 1960s by looking at the reportage of major war-crimes trials of the time, issues of the Holocaust and German national identity.
Autorentext
RENÉ WOLF came to academia rather late, having run a jazz club in London before embarking on his studies. A continuing interest in radio and German history led to a project which examined the role of radio in the divided Germany. The Undivided Sky is a revised version of his PhD thesis. He is currently a Teaching Associate at Royal Holloway, University of London, UK.
