The book brings to light the United Nations Security Council's inability to find a lasting solution to the Syria civil war that has ravaged Syria. The United Nations Security Council has taken some measure which includes; United Nations Security Council Resolutions, United Nations Security Council Presidential Statements, United Nations Security Council Sanctions, United Nations General Assembly Meetings and United Nations Human Right Council Resolutions but these measures have not been far reaching in resolving the war. It was also revealed that veto and deadlocks were factors inhibiting the United Nations Security Council from carrying out its duty effectively. However, the interest of the five permanent members in Syria played out differently, the United States interest is to destabilize Syria which has been its long time plan, Russia's interest is militarily, economic and arms trade, China's interest is economic and strategic, United Kingdom's interest is to battle Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and France interest is to stop the expansion of weapons of mass destruction, which has further worsen the United Nations Security Council inability to resolve the Syria civil war.
