The Use of Ellipsis in Translation and Writing

Blurb: Gilani Nowadays in the world of communication, for transferring information and having relation with different people and various cultures at the international level, the role of translation is undeniable. Writing and translation share a set of basic characteristics which suggest that the forms of research carried out in the two areas could benefit from each other. There are different principals which are involved in the quality of translation, one of these principals is the cohesion which should be established by using the cohesive devices in the translated texts. This book presents relationship between the translation qualities of those students who could use ellipsis in their writing and their translation of the texts containing this form .The main achievement of this book is presenting a new method for measuring a minor competence in relationship with a major competence. The inductive or part to the whole evaluation is of great importance in order to be able to assess the knowledge of the students in a particular grammatical structure regarding their translation or writing.
