The Use of Mother Tongue in EFL Classrooms

The role of mother tongue has been debated for years. This issue has splited people into two confronting sides, the pros and the cons. The pros claim that mother tongue can help students to learn, while the cons argue that mother tongue gives negative interference and thus hinders learning. This book reveals new findings and perspectives toward the issue. It also gives fruitful recommendations in applying mother tongue in teaching English especially in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) context.
