Theistic Evolution's Struggle for Survival

For over a century, theistic evolutionist models have struggled to find a solution that would provide their survival as the most viable model of reconciliation of scientific evolution and biblical creation. Caught under fierce attacks from both evolutionary science and creation theology, some theistic evolutionist systems have claimed that this vital solution lies in postulating an anthropogenesis containing the idea of the infusion of an immortal soul into an evolved pre-human body. As this means a direct appeal to dual anthropology, this study focuses on identifying and assessing the role and the success of such a device. In order to achieve this purpose, Gheorghe Razmerita distinguishes between theistic evolutionist systems that do appeal and those that do not appeal to dual anthropology, paying close attention to the effects of both approaches on key Christian doctrines such hamartiology, Christology, soteriology, and eschatology.
