The purpose of this book is to introduce the reader the study of principles, fundamentals and applications of plasma technology for metallurgical processes. Till date, exponents of this technique have focused only a casual and passing mention on this field because of the absence of a comprehensive and up to date treatise on this subject. This book provides an elementary understanding of plasma and its applications in engineering and technology and discusses the subject intended for graduate, postgraduate studies. This will also work as a reference book for scientists and technologists engaged in processing and fabrications of materials.

Dr. S.C.Mishra is working as a senior Professor at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela in the department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. His main area of research is Plasma spray coating and Plasma Processing of Materials, Composite materials.He has guided many Ph.D and Master Degree,had more than 300 publications and many awards.
