Details

The demand of today's and future aluminum alloys are best suitable materials in engineering applications. Now day's rapid changes in the materials, they are looking towards weight reduction and low-cost materials like aluminum alloys and its composites. AACs are becoming potential engineering materials offering an excellent combination of properties such as high specific strength, high specific stiffness, electrical and thermal conductivity, low coefficient of thermal expansion and wear resistance. Because of their excellent combination of properties, AACs are being used in varieties of applications in automobile, mining and mineral, aerospace, defense and other related sector. The result reveals that the coefficient of thermal expansion, thermal conductivity of as-cast, heat treated alloy and its composites was decreases as the reinforcement content increases. The experimental value of CTE & Thermal conductivity were compared with developing modeling & FEA has been used to investigate the distribution of value of CTE and thermal conductivity in the interfacial region. These composites may be the alternate materials for spacecrafts & aero-plane components, automobile parts.
