Thomas Hardy's The Mayor of Casterbridge: The Timeless Tragedy of Man

Thomas Hardy's writings are universal and timeless which means that they can not be read or applied to a certain time because Hardy's choice of the topics allowed him to reveal the everlasting catastrophes that human being suffers from during his/her lifetime and how he/she is a target to the unseen forces (Chance Forces) that determines his/ her destiny. Therefore, Hardy's literary works are unique and can be read and applied to any place and any time.
