High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! A thunderstone is an apparently worked stone object - often wedge-shaped, like an axe blade - alleged to have fallen from the sky. Tales of thunderstones are found in many cultures around the world, from Greece to China, and are often associated with a thunder god. In recent times, it is known that these objects are often neolithic celts. These are stone tools and weapons turned up by farmers and wrongly believed to have a supernatural origin as the cinder of a thunderbolt. These are not to be confused with fulgurites which are sand fused in the ground into glass by a lightning strike, objects that are not generally known to traditional cultures because of the difficulties of unearthing them. They are also known as thunderaxes, storm stones, sky arrows, thunderbolts, lightning stones, sky axes, and thunder teeth.
