Tilapia Nutrition and Health

This book talks about the results obtained from an experimental study on the effects of different dietary protein sources on growth performance, water quality, hematological parameters and disease resistance in Nile tilapia. Three locally formulated protein feeds: Black soldier fly larvae ( BSF) meal, Freshwater shrimp meal and Soybean meal, and a commercial diet ( control diet) were tested for growth performance. The results indicate that the weight gain rates of juvenile Nile tilapia fingerlings fed on BSF, Freshwater shrimp meal and Soybean meal were higher than the control diet.
