To Die As Kings is the first full length album by the metalcore band The Ascendicate. It was released in 2009 on Solid State Records. The song "Burden" features lines from the movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose.The Ascendicate is a Christian metal band from High Point, North Carolina. They are currently the newest members on Solid State Records.Formerly known as The7Method, a break-up forced members Eric Marlowe (lead vocals) and Chris Wheat (drummer) to retool and look for new band mates, eventually nabbing three other guys who were playing in various bands at the time. An opportunity and playing time with renowned producer Travis Wyrick landed The Ascendicate on the Solid State label and, before too long, the release of their first album To Die as Kings.Chris left the band in December 2009 and stated he had other things to focus on in life. The band is currently on the search for a new drummer.
