To preserve or not to preserve?
Details
How are choices about cultural heritage made? Who decides what is heritage and what is not? Are there objective criteria? Why some cultural heritage items get more attention than others? This book looks for possible answers to these questions analysing two specific cases: Sicily and Scotland. The choice may seem odd. Yet, these are two cases of devolution and the book investigates if decentralisation of decision-making affects cultural heritage policies and, if so, how.
