High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! To the Left for Independence (A Manca pro s'Indipendentzia, MpI) is a separatist and communist Italian political party active in Sardinia. Founded in July 2004, the party campaigns mainly for the independence of Sardinia, the adoption of Sardinian as official language and the de-militarization of the island. Some of its members have been accused of terrorism, but there is no evidence that they are terrorists. For the 2009 regional election the party formed a joint list (Independence Union) with the more mainstream Sardinia Nation and other secessionist groups, gaining only 0.5% of the vote and no seats in the Regional Council of Sardinia.
