It is located two and a half miles south of Maghera and five miles west of Magherafelt. Tobermore lies within the parish of Kilcronaghan, the barony of Loughinsholin and Magherafelt District Council. Tobermore has won the 'Best Kept Small Village' award four times and most recently the 'Best Kept Large Village award in 1986.On the 10th September 2009, Tobermore won first place in the Translink Ulster In Bloom village category, beating Toomebridge and Dromara into 2nd and 3rd respectively.
