Ipatieff Professor of Catalytic Chemistry and Professor of Material Science and Engineering, Department of Chemistry, Northwestern University. His research fields are organometallic chemistry, photonics, metal organic chemical vapor deposition and molecular electronics. Professor Marks is the recipient of the 2005 Presidential Medal of Science and is a member of the National Academy of Science. As of April 2009, Tobin Marks has mentored over 100 PhD students and nearly 100 postdoctoral fellows. More than 90 of these alumni hold academic positions worldwide. Tobin Marks has over 900 publications and 88 patents. His h-index is 102 (April 2009).
