TOPONYMS IN ENGLISH AND THEIR LEXICOGRAPHIC FEATURES

In this monograph, English toponyms, their linguocognitive and linguocultural aspects are shown on the basis of examples. Also, two authoritative toponymic dictionaries are studied and by comparing them, information is given about the issues of lexicographic interpretation of English toponyms and several principles of dictionary construction.The book is intended for philologists, lexicographers, toponymists, graduate students, students of higher education institutions, as well as for the general public interested in toponyms and their position in dictionaries.
