TOURISM BIOSECURITY PROTOCOL

The COVID-19 pandemic requires the development of new measures to restart tourism operations worldwide. The objective of this research was to propose a methodology to implement a biosecurity culture in the daily procedures of the tourism supply chain in Bolivia. The study was developed under a qualitative, cross-sectional approach that was exploratory and descriptive in scope; to gather information from international organizations and tourism representatives in Latin America, expert consultation and in-depth interviews were used. As a result, a methodology was proposed to implement a biosafety culture that allows the provision of a biosafety service, planned and certified, that articulates four elements: leadership, design, execution, and adaptability. In conclusion, working in the sector will require changing the conception of service design, learning about biosafety and how to implement it in the tourism environment.
