Tourist activity and its effects on the communities of Ilha do Tanque-Ba

The genesis of this work was during her undergraduate studies in Tourism at UFPA (2002/2006), when the author worked as a scholarship holder on a project coordinated by Prof Dr Silvia Helena Cruz, in the artisanal fishing community of Vila do Pesqueiro Soure/ Marajó, and based on her experiences in this community, the author became interested in the line of research into culture, intangible heritage and traditional populations. In this sense, this work is the result of the Dissertation developed in the Master's Degree in Culture and Tourism UESC (2012), with Prof Dr Roque Pinto S. Santos as the advisor, and its object being the artisanal fishing communities of Ilha do Tanque in the south of Bahia.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Tourism from the Federal University of Pará (2006) and a master's degree in Culture & Tourism from the State University of Santa Cruz (2012). She is a lecturer on the Business and Tourism Management course at the Federal University of Tocantins-UFT/Campus Araguaína and conducts research into culture, heritage and traditional populations.
