Towards a better presentation of English verb forms in a coursebook

Linguistics and applied English linguistics have taken long studies in the past sixty years, and their new findings are not heeded, and, as a result, they don't find a place either in English grammar texts or in coursebooks which have grammar as their ingredient. This is all the more true in the case of English grammars and coursebooks used in Yemen. Research on the verbal element in clause structures deserves special attention as it is the central element, and as it has so far been improperly understood and taught in EFL classrooms and presented in English grammar texts and coursebooks available. This study, Towards a Better Presentation of English Verb Forms in an English Course, makes a reconsideration of explaining and ordering verb forms, moving towards providing a framework of the English verb forms, which can be made use of in both grammar texts and coursebooks.
