Towards more effective cooperative entrepreneurship

This book "Towards more effective cooperative entrepreneurship" refers to 2 integrated philosophical concepts, including to (i) cooperative as organisation and to (ii) several economic actors in value chain who cooperate to succeed their business. The competitiveness in entrepreneurial capacities of young cooperatives is limited. Jump-start policy resulted into numerous cooperatives. Interlinked institutional deficiencies impact poor performance. Issues in business management; limited market opportunities and insufficient resources and funds affect cooperative functioning. The main obstacles include the deprived nature of internal and external linkages. In Rwandan development partners mainly focus policy on cooperatives. The adoption of the integrated philosophy of cooperative entrepreneurship is solution. Efforts of such business actors as producers, markets and financiers and those from different stakeholders including cooperative structures, government, NGO could allow to adjust the current low performance towards more effective cooperative entrepreneurship. This is an excellent tool in rural development and transformation while it promotes economic growth and poverty reduction.
