TRADITIONAL HERBS USED IN SHRIMP CULTURE

Present book will increase the understanding of traditional herbs used in shrimp culture with special focus on traditional herbal benefits and layout of shrimp culture. The application of traditional herbs used in aquaculture is growing very fast. The areas of interest to modernize and improve shrimp culture for augmenting its growth rate, survival rate and immunity. Herbal plants have been reported to produce various effects such as anti-stress, growth promotion, appetite stimulation, immunostimulation, aphrodisiac and to have anti-pathogen properties in shrimp culture due to their varied active principles. The use of herbal plants in aquaculture have focused on identification of biological activity rather than natural product determination. This book is designed in bringing knowledge and technology to shrimp farmers.
