Traditional Property Rights and the Sustainable Use of Rural Lands
Details
The issue of land use in contemporary Ghana needs to be critically reviewed if we are to address the competing interests in land vis-a-vis the sustainability concerns. This book seek to explore the traditional property regimes in Ghana and how best they could be used to foster and promote sustainable development. Using the Techiman municipality, a rapidly expanding mid-sized city as a case, it can be argued that land has been subjected to excessive stress. It thus behooves on government, and the diverse actors in the sphere of land use to identify appropriate mix of policies to enhance sustainability in Ghana's land sector
