Training Interventions in the Public Sector
Details
Since 1994, initiatives were taken to address the imbalances associated with race and gender in South Africa's workforce essentially those that relate to legislative reforms as well as training and mentoring for affirmative action appointees, either in the public and private entities. In quest to advance these people, training interventions have become imperative in supporting affirmative action appointees to enable them to function effectively. Since advancement of these categories have been legislated, in this book, a determination is made on the training interventions implemented by Mpumalanga public hospitals. A reflection is made on the effectiveness of the implemented interventions as well as the challenges faced by beneficiaries of the stipulated measures. In the context of the findings, appropriate suggestions are made in order to ensure that there are strides made by beneficiaries. Training interventions are aimed at assisting all those people appointed on the basis of affirmative action to succeed in their endeavors and this can be handy for the managers and mentors.
