Training Policies and Practices in Andhra Pradesh Police Department

Effective Induction Training is playing vital role to any functional organization. The training assumes critical importance in case of the police organization. In the wake of rapid changes which occurred in the spheres of knowledge, communication, science and technology and industry, the police are no longer merely a law and order maintaining agency. The present study is an empirical effort to study the facilities available in the training institutions for non-gazetted ranks in the state of Andhra Pradesh, to critically analyze the course contents of different programmes vis-à-vis the police personnel's requirement; and to understand various problems of trainees and trainers in the context of overall training structure meant for these ranks.
