Transforming Struggles into Success

This publication brought together the voices of novice TEFL undergraduate researchers who were committed to making a difference in EFL education. It highlighted their efforts to support low-income students in the Colombian Caribbean, addressing challenges of vulnerability and limited resources. Through their work, these research practitioners were aiming to transform adversity into opportunities for meaningful language learning.

Dr. Alida Vizcaino and Dr José Lobo-F are professors at the Atlántico University in Colombia. They hold MAs in English Literature and Intercultural Communication from UC and UMBC. Both hold doctorates in education from the University of Cincinnati. They have publications in Colombia, the United Kingdom, Panama, and the United States.
