Translation as a link between cultures and civilizations

Since the beginning of mankind, there has been a need to understand and be understood by the "other" in an environment full of identities, languages and cultures. Translation is presented as the key element between different languages and cultures, since it is not only a matter of changing words from one language to another, but also of interpreting meanings, nuances and cultural contexts. In this way, the translator acts as a cultural intermediary, adjusting messages so that they are relevant and respect the norms and values of the receiving audience.In short, translation represents an act of intercultural communication that eliminates linguistic and cultural barriers, fosters cooperation and mutual understanding, and helps build more inclusive societies enriched by diversity. For this reason, it is seen as a true bridge that unites civilizations and facilitates the flow of ideas, literature, science and critical thinking across the globe.
