Belyi is a senior researcher at the Centre for EU Russia Studies at the University of Tartu, Estonia, and a Global Faculty member at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee, United Kingdom. He regularly teaches international energy relations and has been affiliated with the Energy LLM at the University of Eastern Finland, Finland. His areas of expertise are international energy markets, EU gas policies and Russian hydrocarbons.
