Travel As Discovery: A Reading of the Selected Works of Amitav Ghosh

This book examines the other routes which include all journeys within the peripheries of the Eastern countries, and then launching from the periphery to the center that took place in the pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial times in Ghosh's novels. Besides, it also talks about journeys from metropolis to the peripheries. The book attempts to find an arena, where all cosmopolitans live side by side peacefully in spite of diversity of cultures, languages and religions.

Khalid Abdu, an assistant professor at Salman Bin Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia, got his M. A. in English and PhD. from the University of Mysore, India (2011). Recently, his special interest is in travel literature. He is responsible for the research section at the Department of Studies in English.
