Treatment of High Astigmatism with Different Laser Platforms
Details
Eye is not a perfect optical system; however, its imperfections cancel each other out through certain parts and in some other cases are adding to each other. If we consider astigmatism alone, in most cases, astigmatism is a result of the corneal shape (and sometimes different part of the eye) that is present since birth. Normally, the surface of the cornea is rounded, however in astigmatism the cornea is shaped more oval. This book is a short summary of all the options for astigmatism correction options. The main focus is on different laser platforms, which correct astigmatism directly on the cornea. Advantages and obstacles with all different platforms are discussed, with the insight in other different method of astigmatism correction. Authors have performed surgeries on all available platforms; therefore the value of this book is not only academic but also clinical.
