Treatment Outcome among people living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa

The life expectancy of patients with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) reported by several epidemiological studies is inconsistent. One of the chapters of this book summarizes the survival rate. HIV-1 drug resistance may also limit the benefits of antiretroviral therapy (ART) and hence we describe patterns of drug-resistance mutations (DRMs) in individuals with virological failure. The majority of AIDS-related deaths occur in sub-Saharan Africa where due to opportunistic co-infections and hence we highlighted the burden of confections in the last chapter of this book.

Je suis chercheur principal à l'Institut éthiopien de santé publique depuis plus de 10 ans et j'ai publié plus de 40 articles évalués par des pairs. J'ai obtenu plus de 12 subventions pour des projets de recherche. J'ai été l'un des lauréats de la bourse de leadership Chevening pour 2022. Je suis également candidate au doctorat en sciences biomédicales à l'Universitas Airlangga.
