Trends In The Marketing And Use Of Fertilizers In Aligarh District

Fertilizers are the materials added to the soil to supply the elements needed by the plants.These elements are necessary for the growth and development of the plants. Fertilizers may be categorised as inorganic (chemical) or organic (manure).Inorgnic fertilizers are extensively produced in chemical plants whereas manure are the residue of plant or animal origin.On the basis of it's element content fertilizers are categorised as nitogenous (N), phosphatic(P) and potassic(K) fertilizers. Balanced use of fertilizers is indispensable to supply the loss of nutrients from the soil and also for the protection of the environment.An imbalance use causes serious consequences on the soil quality, on sustainable agriculture and on the entire ecological system.Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) is an important component of sustainable agriculture.
