Trials of the Mind

A country is born and those who were involved in its conception watch from the terraces hoping for the new baby to stand up and walk. Nhamburiko and his friends are in this exact position but decades later all what is left are memories of what could have been. What has become of them is a reflection of what has become of their beloved country. Too old and tired to do anything their hope is now in the hands of the youth that surrounds them as they reflect on missed opportunities.

Simon Makumbe was born on 8 September 1972 in Nhamo village of Chief Mukanganwi area of Bikita district, in Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe. He did his primary and secondary education up to O-Level in Bikita. after completing A-Levels at Gutu High School, he enrolled for Bsc Honours degree in Politics and Administration at the University of Zimbabwe.
