The recent trend of research in the field of materials across the world is to achieve energy-efficient, light weight, economically feasible and a better substitution for natural resources. In view of environment connection, these studies assume significance because there is a huge demand for biodegradable materials. Natural fibres obtained from plants are biodegradable and are effective as reinforcement in polymeric matrices. Wear is an important aspect to assess the life of a component. The phenomenon involved in wear process of natural fibre reinforced polymer composite is fairly complex. The main objective of the book include the tribological characterization of natural fibre reinforced composites subjected to different operational conditions of wear. Also to explore the possibility of natural fibre as a substitute for synthetic one. This book discusses the development of composites using some natural fibre (sisal, jute, cotton, bamboo, wood etc.) with different polymer matrices. Effects of modifications on the composites with coupling agent (silane, MA-g-PP), modifier (UHMWPE, graphite) on trobological behavior is discussed.

Autorentext

Author is working in Amity University as Sr Faculty in Applied Physics Dept. He did Ph.D. from Barkatullah University, India. He has published more than 35 papers in Journals & Proceedings. His research areas are Natural Fibres Composites, Tribology, Processing and Characterization, FGM.
