Tumors and liver metastases

Percutaneous radiofrequency ablation is a simple, minimally invasive, safe and highly reliable treatment technique. It is considered the first-line treatment for small liver tumours. Imaging-guided local ablation (CT-guidance) allows local control of the disease and can have a positive impact on the survival of targeted patient groups. The role of the radiological technologist as the health professional responsible for the use of ionizing radiation in this practice is paramount.
