Two Phase Fluidized Bed

Gas-solid fluidized beds have been found wide industrial applications compared to fixed beds due to low pressure drop, efficient gas-solid mixing, high rate of heat transfer and continuous operations. Ideal particulate system consisting of mono sized particles of equal densities seldom occurs in practical fluidized bed applications, where simultaneous treatment of dissimilar material is normally encountered in a fairly large number of industrial applications of gas solid fluidization technology. Many applications of fluidized bed technology have been found during recent years for multi component solid treatments, burning high-sulpher coal via fluidized bed combustion (FBC) is one of the most promising methods that is environmentally acceptable and economically feasible.
