The skeletal system comprises the cartilaginous and bony elements of the body, along with the ligaments and joints that bind them, making the skeleton system-bound. It offers protective and supporting structures for vital organs, helps the body in achieving movement with the muscles, and also provides reserve of some minerals like calcium and phosphorus. Moreover, it contains the bone marrow that aids in the formation of the body's blood cells.
