Tychonoff spaces are named after Andrey Nikolayevich Tychonoff, whose Russian name ( ) is variously rendered as "Tychonov", "Tikhonov", "Tihonov", "Tichonov" etc. Note that some mathematical literature uses different definitions for the term "completely regular" and the terms involving "T".
