Type 2 diabetes mellitus among Turkish migrant women in Vienna

Successful care for migrants with diabetes requires knowledge and understanding of their cultural and religious background and the specific problems faced by this patient group. This study uses 13 interviews to define the perceptions of illness, specific needs, expectations and special characteristics of Turkish women with diabetes, with the aim of improving diabetes care for patients with a migrant background.
